He didn't want to go back. He was stopped outside the doorway, listening to her scramble and whimper, and he really didn't want to go back... but he was going to have to. He ground his teeth together, cursing silently to himself, and turned around. He stopped in the doorway, just taking it in again for a moment. His stomach dropped, and a pair of faces, one vague and one clear, flashed his his vision. They would be so disappointed with you.
"Shit.." The curse wouldn't be audible, just under his breath, but it didn't matter. It wasn't for her anyway. He quickly approached, kneeling down next to her. He moved a hand to put it on the shoulder of her curled form, but hesitated, and at the last moment, he returned his hand to his side. "Hey, kid- you all right?" It was a stupid question, really, but one that he always seemed to ask anyway - he moved on quickly to the next one without awaiting a response. "Can you see me?" He held up his hand again, trying to get a response. Shit, he really didn't know what to do... he just wanted to get out of here, but there was nothing he could do anymore. He couldn't just leave a student here. "Am I blurry at all?"

Dragon stayed where she was for a few moments, thinking maybe she was alone. But then she heard footsteps on the aluminum again. "N-nnn," she groaned, not actually capable of getting a full word out. Her brain felt scrambled, and the world was still blurry and too bright.
She felt a presence next to her and sort of flailed to the side, into a counter. She heard an unfamiliar voice, but when she looked up with bleary eyes, all she could see was a vague shape. Someone was next to her, but...
Wait... Person...
She might have intended to lunge forward, but it was really more just of a flop in her current condition, but it did the trick. Her hand fell into his shadow and vanished, pulling the rest of her in with it. Her ferret was all that was left, blinking, confused, and wondering what all the noise was about. He decided the best course of action was just to run behind the counter, which he did. He could find his way back to the room later.
Dragon, meanwhile, was recovering a bit more quickly now that she was in the dark comfort of a shadow. With the warm safty covering her, her brain began slowly chugging in an attempt to catch up. She still felt dizzy, but the immediate danger was over, because she was in a shadow now. A person's shadow, she reminded herself, as her memory returned and she remembered whose it probably was. Aw... shit. Maybe she'd just wait until he walked into a place with more shadows and jump out there.

It wasn't looking good - she probably had a concussion or something. Shit. He was still trying to get his brain to decide just what to do with her when she flopped desperately over in his direction. He jumped a little, before he watched with wide eyes as she vanished again. This time, though, he could see what it was she'd done. Ha, no wonder she hadn't been worried about getting shocked.. it was a little difficult to electrocute a shadow, wasn't it? He just stayed crouched there for a few more moments, still unsure as to what to do, before he stood again.
"..well." His voice was still quiet, but it wasn't full of the agitation it had been before. It was.. calmer. "Guess I should just walk down to medic - if you want to come out then, I guess you'll be free to." It was the only thing he could think of doing. He turned, moving to walk out the doorway, and paused at the exit. "But if you're gonna take off before then, at least let me know or... something." He wasn't entirely sure how her power worked, but.. hell, he didn't really know much of anything right now. His head was a little fogged from everything, unclear to a tee. Shaking it, he kept moving into the hallway, taking his shadow, and presumably Dragon, with him.

Dragon began to become reoriented and realized she was moving. No surprise, she told herself, she was in someone's shadow, and those tended to move. She glanced out and felt around her for nearby shadow. Seemed like he was walking down a hallway. He'd mentioned something about a medic, hadn't he? Booo. She didn't want to go to a medic. In fact, come to think of it, she REALLY didn't want to go to a medic. Well, there was some shadow in the corners of this hall, she'd just hop out.
She did just that, sliding into one of the many adjacent shadows as his came into contact with it. There she sat, watching him walk disorientedly away.
And just then, her conscience kicked in. Loudly. She could only listen to so much of it bitching her out for tormenting him and then vanishing and leaving him to panic about whether or not she was going to blame him for her whole fridge episode. With an airy sigh, she popped out of the shadows, squatting and leaning against the wall.
"..." Oh... Oh well NOW she couldn't think of anything to say. She'd been full of things earlier, hadn't she? Really, she didn't even know whether she wanted that annoying blonde head to just keep walking away or not. ".......*cough*." It was about the best as she could manage. It would probably let him know she'd jumped out, right?

As alone as he'd been in this hallway, which was pretty normal for this time of day, he hadn't really been expecting any sort of sound from nearby - other than if the girl from before decided to reappear, that was. This meant that as soon as he heard the cough, he paused where he was, one foot in front of the other and hands in his pockets, and waiting for a moment. Was he thinking, or just giving her time to think? It was a little impossible to tell at this point, but as he swung around, he seemed to remain fairly calm, and quiet.
"There you are," he said simply, watching her - not in a harsh way, or an almost creepy way, and not with a stare - just watching. "You look all right, after all.. I'm guessing you're planning on running off, now, aren't you?" He kept watching for a just a moment longer... and then he turned his body, and leaned against the wall where he was, eyes slipping away from her and across to the other wall. "...all right." He'd done the EXACT same thing at her age, whenever he'd gotten hurt - went off and nursed his wounds on his own. Hell, he still did it. It wasn't as though he was much more mature than he had been then, ha. Most people made progress in that much time.. he'd sort of slid to a halt, after a certain point. Wasn't much he could do to help it now.

The pause after he stopped and before he turned gave her time to mentally steel herself. She still didn't like his face. His eyes were... way too familiar. She looked down at the floor. There were way too many people in the world with blue eyes, she decided. That was the world's problem. Blue eyes.
She managed to make eye contact with him when he finally did turn around, although one could never be entirely sure how much of her he could actually see. She could just be cooling red eyes floating there, since she was making a point of staying in the darkest possible area. Although it was a hallway, not a cave, so...
She just nodded in response to his question, pausing to press a hand up against her head. No blood. No blood was a good thing. She'd probably just have a headache, but she was feeling wounded. She wanted to slide off to someplace extremely dark and lurk there for the next few days, and god HELP anyone who tried to make her leave.
The janitor had pretty much ended their interaction fairly well--especially when you add in the fact his last leaving action had been to scare her so badly she face planted into a refrigerator--so Dragon was content to just fade back into the shadows and dart off towards her bedroom.
