Name: Mika Aerin Rythos
Age: 20
Race: Dryad/Dragon Halfkin
Sex: Female
Gender: Female
Magical Ability (or lack of): Ability to make plants thrive and grow to a certain extent (must be in contact, and can still only push them so far); slight ability to produce and control fire, but it is very weak.
Personality: Mika has the qualities, deep down, to be exceptionally nurturing and motherly, and though parts of this leak out, it's often covered up under insecurity and distrust. If there's one thing she's learned since she started out on her own, it's that the world is a cold place, and you can't be sure who to trust. Once you crack her hard shell and win her over, however, you have a friend for life. She is very prone to becoming overprotective very quickly, and has aggressive spurts when those she cares about are in danger. Her social skills are a little lax when it comes to true interaction. She does much better with animals and plants than she does any sentient race, and it shows. She's a little bit awkward and has a habit for faux pas, which she often doesn't even notice until much too late. Mika's curiosity has been known to get her into as much trouble as it has her cat, and she still has a lot to learn.
History: Mika was born from the romance of a young Dryad and a golden Dragon widower. For the first few years of her life, the family lived in (relative) peace in the oasis dwelling of Ilden. However, as things in the Eastern Mountains continued to deteriorate, her father decided he had a duty to help his friends and family that still resided there. He did not return.
As a result, Mika grew up primarily under the care of her mother, and immersed in Dryad culture. She spent her entire early life growing at desert's edge, experiencing the lush wonderland and the harshness of the surrounding sand. Often, she stared out, wondering what the lands that lay beyond truly looked like. She studied books and paintings, but none of it was good enough - and none of it could find her father, either. So, when she was old enough to stand on her own two feet and confident enough to find her way, she set out with maps in hand to explore the world, and bring him back.
It's been a harsh awakening along the way. Mika was always taught that people didn't understand, and though she had nothing to fear from the tiny village that had watched her grow, other Dryad weren't as accepting. Humans? They were even worse. Though she hid her Dragon qualities under hood and glove, there was no hiding everything, and with her Min Xanthur at her side, she was clearly a fish out of water once she left the oasis. She took to being as inconspicuous as she could be, shielding her flowered hair and glowing eyes. She's been traveling for awhile now, but her money is running out and her leads are thinning. She's unsure of what move to make next.
Appearance: Mika has skin that is a light tan - a little lighter than your average Dryad, a little darker than your average Dragon. Her hair is a little past shoulder length and honey-brown, and like many Dryads, has a small rib of flowers actively thriving along the side. Hers are deep blue forget-me-nots. She sometimes leaves it down, but often ties it back, flipping it inside and keeping it out of the way. Her bangs are often a little shaggy, long enough to hang in her eyes and often hastily swept to one side. She has a pair of tiny horns that hide in the hair, but they're not really big enough to see, especially when she keeps them hidden under the thickest growth of flowers.
She is medium-weight, with lean muscle and an agile form. She stands around 5'9", on the tall side but not unusual. She has patches of golden scales down her arm, one on each upper and one on each lower, but lacks the elbow spikes of many full-bred Dragons. Her eyes are a bright, golden amber, with all the cat-like quality and glowing brightness of her father's.
[outfit description pending - light archery gloves, something with a hood, worn traveling boots]
Around her neck, always, is the scale of a golden Dragon - her father's.
